Stop Bullying. Make a Change.

Kids all over the world today are getting bullied. There are many different kinds of bullying like- Cyber Bullying, Verbal Bullying, Taunting, Physical Bullying, and being left out.  Bullying can make many people feel hurt or even abandoned. knowing that they are going to go somewhere and be bullied is just a terrible feeling. Many people can become bullies because they are going through hard times at home and then they take their anger out on others. Some might’ve been bullied when they were younger or are still being picked on and so they choose to do it to someone else. All over the world there are bullies, they might know that what they are doing is wrong but they still do it so they can be pleased. Children want to fit in nowadays so they listen to what their peers say. Bullying is a horrible thing to experience or do.

But we can make a change- you can STOP bullying. You just have to speak up. People might put you down and call you a snitch, but would you rather worry about this or let somebody else suffer? A few more ways are to get an adult involved in the situation, having an older person can always help. If you are scared to tell anyone you can just tell someone you trust and maybe they can tell an adult for you. Always remember that there are many people who are here to support you if you are being bullied. Remember to always treat people the way you would like to be treated.

Pop!

I recently read the book Pop. This book taks place in Kennesaw,New York. The main characters are a sixteen year-old named Marcus Jordan and and a middle-aged famous pro football player by the name of Charlie Popovich. When Marcus first moves to Kennesaw he has no freinds. He tries out for the football team that had recently had an 11-0 season. Marcus practices at the park everyday for hours. One day Charlie comes and play with Marcus. He is really good and strong. Marcus finds out that Charlie has early Alzheimers. Charlie still thinks he is sixteen and forgets he has a wife and two kids, one of which is all-star quarterback of the football team.

I really enjoyed this story. It brought my attention to those who suffer from football. I also like this book because I love football. This book really brings the sport to life. It especially brings out the pop. I like how they portray Charlie as the King of Pop.

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas

This trimester in our language class we are reading The Boy In The Striped
Pajamas. We have been reading this book for two and a half months. The
book is very interesting. We write summaries and and describe main events in class.
Sometimes when we don’t finish we have to do them for homework. We are
working hard to finish the book to watch the movie.
In March, we saw the movie in our Language classroom. It was an exciting
movie. It had thrilling scenes and the characters were very well acted. It was
a very amazing movie.  My opinion is that it was a very
good book and the movie was very well done.  I
think every one should read the book and see the movie because you can learn about and
experience things from the past. I really loved the book and the
movie.

Babies in School

The Baby 2 Care is a part of the curriculum for health in 8-7th grade. They are robotic babies given to the eighth and seventh grade students at Annunciation School. The Baby Care 2 are plastic babies that behave like real babies- for example they cry so you can feed then, burp them, or change their diaper. The Baby Care 2 is a program to help students see what it would be like if they had a baby as a teenager and how much responsibility they would have.

I think that for anyone who is a teen and  even some adults, should take this  program to see how it would be to have a baby. Having a real baby is an amazing and important experience and this is why everyone should wait to have a baby until they are older. The Baby Care 2 program has helped teach the students here that lesson. I also think that parents would like for their children to try the Baby Care 2 program. My parents talked to me and said that this was really how it would be to have a baby as a teen. My opinion is that I wouldn’t like to have a baby even as an adult because I would not have time for them and the love they need. But I also think that it is good bringing an amazing gift like a child into the world. I really liked the Baby Care 2 program.

The Babies That Won’t Give You Sleep

I am going to talk about the fake babies that are assigned to 7th and 8th graders at Annunciation CS. These babies are given to us to practice taking care of babies. So far most of my friends had to take care of the babies. All they said was that it was a terrible experience having a kid. These babies never give you any sleep at night.

We are graded on how well we take care of the babies. There are so may ways to know when we mistreat the babies. It will show how you carry your baby- like if you didn’t care for the head it comes up in the report. While you take care for the baby, you have to write out when it cries and when it stops. At school you can hear babies crying a lot and its distracting our classes. I hear from my friends that were given the assignment of the baby that it was stressful for them. It takes their time away from their learning at school.

This baby assignment shows students how it will be if you become a teen parent. It shows you how it takes a lot of responsibility to care for babies. This assignment also teaches how you have to be mature when we have a baby. We learn how babies are something to care for- not just something you have and do nothing with. The assignment is a good way to give students a chance to know learn about what it will be like in the future when we have children.

Think It Over…. Babies

My blog is about the babies we got this trimester for Religion class. These babies are like robots except that they look like human baby robots. Their skin is made of a rubbery material. It has a computerized monitor inside which makes the baby cry. When it cries, its either because it’s hungry, fussy, or it needs its diaper changed. The babies are programmed to be a quiet baby or a very fussy baby in different levels. We do this program to show teenagers in middle school how hard it would be to become a teenage parent. This program shows us the responsibilities we would have to take on and the many sacrifices we would have to make. It shows us how fast we have to mature on behalf of the little person we could bring into the world.

My opinion about this is that is shows us how much responsibilty and matureness we need to have to be parents. It takes a lot of energy out of every young person that has a child at a young age. I had the baby over the weekend and it was not a good experience. It was also an awkward experience. I had to go to the mall on the same weekend I had the baby and so I took it with me. When I was at the mall I got a lot of dirty looks from older people and also my peers. It made me feel like I made a mistake even asking for the baby over the weekend. It made me feel like I was being frowned upon. It was like I was not wanted at the mall because I had a baby and I was also really young. I don’t have any plans of getting pregnant at a young age because I want something for myself and I know I have a great future ahead of me.

Fictional Social Studies Story

We saw Him. Tecumseh- the Shawnee chief. He said that if the white men didn’t stop coming into their land they would join the British. General Harrison would have cut his hand off but I stopped him and Tecumseh and his men left. The Americans didn’t listen and then a war started.

I told Gum and Bol (my friends and allies during the Revolutionary war) about the encounter with the chief. We prepared for battle. We spied on the Native Americans and saw them meet up with Howe. They worked out a plan for the war. We all felt sad for them because we knew after the war if Britain won they would go back on their deals with all the Native Americans. We reported this to General Harrison and he told us to get ready anyway- a war was going to start.

We charged! Gum was to my right and Bol was to my left. We rammed right through the British defenses. We knew victory was ahead, but in a flash, Bol got shot in the chest and Gum in the side. I was hit by a bullet in my leg. Right then- two British soldiers came, and Bol was stabbed. Gum was able to shoot one with his pistol. But in that instant a barrage of arrows struck us.

What is Happening in Annunciation?

In Annunciation school there will be a lot going on this month. The seventh graders will be going to a Holy Family open house if they are thinking about going to Holy Family HS next year. The girls soccer team has been doing very well- they have not lost one game at all! They are undefeated champions! In volleyball, the girls on that team are undefeated as well- they have not lost a game yet! The girls volleyball team has very good sportsmanship shown by not spiking the ball if they arent doing well. These are some of the things that are happening in Annunciation CS sports.

Now I will talk about what is going to happen in May and why the students at Annunciation CS love this month. One of the 40 reasons why the students at Annunciation love May is the it is the last month of the school! Another is because Cinco de Mayo is coming up. It is when the teachers and parents set up a carnival where kids can play games and eat, dance, and play bingo. The biggest reason for why kids like this month is because of Aloha Beach! It is a lake where all the classes in the school get to go to. The 8th graders go first because it is their last and final day at Annunciation School. Its so fun!

Lewis and Clark

Lewis and Clark were the first white people to explore the west. They were in a expedition to discover a water route to the Pacific Ocean. They didnt complete their goal; but they did discover over 300 new species of plants and animals unkown to science at  the time. One of their other goals was to make friends with the Native Americans. On their expedition they made friends with a lot of Native Americans. This expedition took about two years.

Lewis and Clark risked their lives to do this expedition. Everybody thought they wouldnt make it back. This expedition is important to us because it was an exploration of the new Louisiana Purchase (which had doubled the size of the USA). It was also important because they found over 300 new species of animals and plants. This was also successful because they had a charted a new and more accurate map of the west.

Our Amazing Soccer Team

This year’s season of soccer has gone great! We have won every game so far- well except one where we tied 1-1. The goal was scored by Viviana (one of the eighth graders) on our team. Our soccer team is great! We have a great soccer coach and he is very supportive.

Our soccer team is a team of 19 girls. We have very stong players. This year we won our first game 11-0. That game was the best game yet. We plan on moving up a few levels in the fall. This week on Tuesday, May 1st we will be having a scrimage in Arvada against a team that is two divisions above us. We plan on trying our hardest and trying to prove that we also belong in that divison. This year we are also trying to earn money to make it to our first tournament in Utah. So far our team is doing good in raising the money to get there.

This is my second season playing soccer. At first I didn’t think that I would like it,  but now its one of my favorite sports. This is a fun sport. I like it because it gets a little physical. I never thought I would want to play soccer. Our team is very unique- we are a mixture of seventh and eighth graders. We have a lot of very talented girls on our team. This is a team that I think could make it to the final tournament in Utah this summer and bring home our first ever trophy for our team. This would be our first tournament. Wish us luck.

Go Cardinals!!
